Wednesday's Journal

Today I have been thinking about how some people criticize Weight Watchers as a bad diet. They say their reasons are because it doesn't force a change to healthy eating. That people are still eating junk so what good is it. I disagree. First I have been on the restrictive diets that allow only healthy food options and they don't last for me. I just don't like to eat that way and I can only force myself for so long. Second, the main goal with a weight loss program is to actually lose weight and keep it off. WW is working for me for this. I feel like I can continue with this for my life and not feel deprived. As for the healthy eating I am slowly learning to make better food choices, but with WW it isn't an all or nothing deal. And as you look at my food journals and see that I really do eat poorly, just consider that I used to eat MUCH worse than this. This is an improvement, and the longer I am consistent in staying on track the easier it is for me to crave a carrot or an apple. I feel disappointed when I have to eat white bread, I want 100% whole wheat! So, those that criticize need to understand that there are some of us that are so used to junky foods that we honestly can't just switch over to healthy stuff and stick with it. We have to change gradually and train our bodies differently slowly.

Anyway those were just me thoughts for today.

oatmeal with milk sugar: 5.5
cocoa: 1
apple: 1
mac n cheese: 4.5
cornbread cake: 3.5
french onion soup: 3
yogurt: 1.5
chocolate muffin: 3

This totaled 23 pts which was just the target I planned. I also earned 2 activity points.
